Does it Have to "Match?"

Color week really got me looking in all directions, noticing things in more detail, and giving me lots of ideas for photos. Actually, it's spilling over into my wardrobe thanks to Kendalee, who focused on that theme for the week. I love my neutrals still, and when I took this photo of marbles in a fountain I began thinking about sea shells as a lovely subject. And sand. Association is a wonderful thing:). However, it will be a while before those subjects materialize.

I seldom make prints of images such as these, and I don't know why not. Or at least greeting cards. I might play around with a border of some sort, or a cut-out? Does anyone else use images such as these for a specific purpose? I'm thinking it could be a great look, on the right wall, or with the right decor. Actually, does it always have to "go" with something?

I'm not a decorator, but I do know what I like in the way of photographic images. Let me know your ideas on this subject.

I think the beauty of this image is that it's like an abstract, and doesn't have to "go" with anything, you know? Just the shapes and colors are enough. I would personally enlarge it as much as possible and mat/frame it. It's so pretty just as it is :)

Lovely picture! Everything about it appeals to me - the mix of colours, the texture, the shapes, the abundance - yummy! I don't know what I'd do with it either but I like to look at it. Cards are a great idea! Or transferred onto a big canvas...

PS how lovely that the colour's spilling into your wardrobe too ;o) I'd love to see what you've added... I'll never really move away from my neutrals either but I'm amazed how happy a little colour makes me.And it's good to test our boundaries, isn't it? :)

I'm bubbling over with idea's too. Everybody following colorweek gave me great idea's. And you are so right, this would look great on some ones wall. Go for it.

Okay...the votes are in and I'm going to order a print. If nothing else I can put it in the upstairs hallway or the bathroom:). Actually, I see some pieces on a consignment basis and maybe this would appeal to someone. Thank you for the support!

It's funny how a project takes on a life of its own. I started out making a list of things I'd like to take pictures of - piles of M&M's, rocks on the beach, license plates hanging on an old garage door. Hidden Gem

Thank you, Georgia , for helping me focus on the hidden gem, the place we love to go and not be found. Not far from home...it IS home. We call it "out back," and once there we are transported to a private place, not visible from houses or road or the casual observer. I couldn't choose just one photo, so I created a collage of this special part of our world. Enjoy.
