Finding Your Muse

An early morning escape reminded me of a poem I used when I taught middle school English.

The Fog
by Carl Sandberg
The fog comes
on little cat feet.It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

I teach second grade and have a poem of the week. The kids have the option to memorize it or not. This is one I teach them. They always love it.

My students liked this poem as well, Relyn, and it was wonderful to see them process it as middle schoolers.

Thank you, Sue. I'm SO glad I pushed myself out the door to find these moments.

Thank you, Traci. I love the mood that fog creates on a summer morning.
