It's funny how a project takes on a life of its own. I started out making a list of things I'd like to take pictures of - piles of M&M's, rocks on the beach, license plates hanging on an old garage door. Then I decided it would be interesting to find 100 items about "me," celebrating my 100th post with items about me/my life/etc. This way I could tie my compulsion to blog in to my theme.
So, I started THAT list. And when I was done I decided all the things I was collecting, ideas as well as items, were actually blessings. Things about my life that make me who I am and allow me to keep striving to be the best I can be at what I do. Each activity isn't necessarily a blessing, it's my ability to do the things I love to do, and be with the people I love to be with. This became an introspective activity, and that's probably where I am in my life right now. If the shoe fits..., so to speak.
So, welcome to my 100th Post! Without everyone I've met through this blogospheric activity I wouldn't even have a 100th post to celebrate. A HUGE thank you to you all.
Come on in! I'm not sure if the weather is cooperating today for an outside gathering, so we'll gather inside. Come in through my front door, and look at the items on my front porch as you pass by. If you really want to count and make sure I've come up with the magic number, feel free:).Okay...I'll give you a little help.
Though not exhaustive, here are some things about me that make me who I am. Black & white because I'm old-fashioned. I teach. I write. I read. (If you look closely I also cheat at scrabble, but please note there are 77 letters; I did not count letters twice if they were in more than one word). I photograph, and have won awards for my photography. I knit and I sew (I made the bag my knitting is in). I love music: singing in the church choir, directing high school musicals, listening in the car or at home, attending concerts and shows, performing in community theater musical productions (okay, just once -but I did it!). Then there's my family. A blended family of 6children, and 8 beautiful grandchildren. And Beethoven....he's another whole blog post. There are a couple of stories about that piece of statuary which sits on the piano you'll pass in the front room. Look for those another day.
I have also been published. It's a wonderful feeling to see your bi-line atop an article you've written and photographed.
And that's 100 (give or take). It's been quite a journey.
Find your place-tag and share your stories and photographs. I can't wait to see what you've brought to the celebration. Those who have RSVP'd are:
Joyce, Char, Kamana, Georgia, Dan, Kendalee, and Christine. New arrivals today, thank you to Tam and Charlotte for stopping by, and posting a great photo to celebrate the day. Shall we also add Teresa, and Jen? What a wonderful party we're having. The day is almost done...but the thoughts and wishes come pouring in. It's been quite a celebration.
Thank you for coming and enjoy your day. The view from the back window will look similar to Sunday's post...so sit and enjoy.

Congrats on your 100th!! I hope you are blogging your beautiful pictures for 500 more...at least! I am still trying to come up with something. If I do...how do I post it on your site...or is that what we are supposed to do????
Dan
:)
Dan - I actually already have a link to your page in my blog...so that might do it. Just let me know and I'll make sure the word gets out.
By the way...I was going to suggest you just count the one you already posted today. There are at least 100 bricks in that beautiful old building, which could be 100 years old?:)
I am so sorry I couldn't participate, I really wanted to though.
For my 100th post, I posted 100 random facts about me - does that count? If not, it's ok.

That by-line is very cool.

Congradulations on your photography and being published.
