End of the Stock Photography Course

I keep using the word "interesting" to describe this course. It's been 8 long weeks photographing in unfamiliar territory and I have enjoyed almost every minute. I don't mean "enjoyed" like - oh how fun:). I mean enjoyed as in stretching my way of thinking. There were many great photo shoots, and an equal number of frustrating ones. My last assignment was "cake." So how many ways can you photograph cake? I chose the cupcake option. What do you think?I also created my first photo collage! I think I'm more excited about that than the cake (Well, except for how much of it I ate while making it. And the left overs!).

I don't know what it is - maybe the red of the roses and the green of the leaves and all that white icing and the weak blue-sky backgrounds - but these sort of feel 'Christmassy'.

And fun too.

I see what you mean:). I had more fun than I thought I would taking pictures of cupcakes. But it seemed more intesting than taking photos of just one cake, which was "technically" the assignment. I feel the need to get back to some free creativity.

Beautiful! I love the top right and bottom left ones especially Sandy, and the collage as a whole too. Collage is such fun, it adds a kind of "whole is greater than the sum of the parts" dimension for me too, which I love. I don't know if that makes sense?

It's funny how a project takes on a life of its own. I started out making a list of things I'd like to take pictures of - piles of M&M's, rocks on the beach, license plates hanging on an old garage door. Then I decided it would be interesting to find 100 items about "me," celebrating my 100th post with items about me/my life/etc. This way I could tie my compulsion to blog in to my theme. So, I started THAT list. And when I was done I decided all the things I was collecting, ideas as well as items, were actually blessings. Hidden Gem

Thank you, Georgia , for helping me focus on the hidden gem, the place we love to go and not be found. Not far from home...it IS home. We call it "out back," and once there we are transported to a private place, not visible from houses or road or the casual observer. I couldn't choose just one photo, so I created a collage of this special part of our world. Enjoy.
