Summertime and Freetime


Do you remember when you were growing up and summer vacation was coming?  The anticipation was high and all you could picture was a vast sea of time to do whatever you wanted to do.

For me it was reading, swimming, time at the cottage, and evenings of running around the neighborhood with friends, playing Red Light, Green Light and any of a large number of games that were much more fun when the sun went down and the street lights came on.


I still anticipate summer vacation, and I'm almost there.  I still have my stack of books to read (no e-reader yet), but the swimming tapered off over the years and there is  no cottage to go to.  Running around the neighborhood doesn't sound good anymore, either.


So as I begin to unwind and put the busy school year behind me, I find the coffee on, camera out, and my eye on the critters - both outside and in.  The computer doesn't automatically turn to my school pages, I am able to open the Blog and anticipate the changes I'd like to bring to both the look and the content.

Time to catch up on what my friends are doing, too.  Friends both in the concrete world and in cyber space.  I look forward to sharing stories of journeys near and far as the next few months unfold.

Does anyone have special plans for the summer? 
 Or winter, wherever you happen to live:).

Those little baby birds are so cute and that kitty looks like he is up to mischief.

No special plans here ... just spending as much time outside as possible.

Happy Week- being home and loving photography

Roamin Meets the GPS- Stories from the Road Lisa, my favorite Curious Girl , created a wonderful idea for a week of "happy" posts. Share those things which make you happy, bring joy to your life, and generally fill you with happy thoughts (I do love the movie Hook , with Robin Williams). We are just returned from our fabulous 23-day, 5600 mile, 10 state, 4 time-zone adventure, and I am filled with happy thoughts today.
